In 2017, Friends of the Oneonta Theatre & the Greater Oneonta Historical Society
applied to the City of Oneonta for a technical assistance grant
from the Downtown Revitalization Initiative.
In 2017, Friends of the Oneonta Theatre & the Greater Oneonta Historical Society
applied to the City of Oneonta for a technical assistance grant
from the Downtown Revitalization Initiative.
With this DRI funding, we hired Webb Management Services of New York City to evaluate the viability of an active and renovated Oneonta Theatre from three vantage points:
Renovating the theater building,
Sustainably operating an historic theater in this community, and
Positioning the theater as an anchor institution in a Cultural Arts District.
Three different firms contributed to this comprehensive study, and their staff made site visits, conducted interviews, and held discussions with local stakeholders throughout 2018.
Their analysis and recommendations were presented at a public forum at the Foothills PAC in February 2019.
